We're back after a 31/2 year hiatus, QuikTrip will open its first new store in Oklahoma in the city of Verdigris.

"QuikTrip has dedicated the last three years remodeling all of our stores to accommodate our new QT Kitchens offer of fresh sandwiches and bakery items. Now we are ready to expand our presence in Oklahoma" said Chet Cadieux, President and CEO of QuikTrip. "We have several other Tulsa area sites in the queue to open over the next few years."

"The Verdigris store will open at 6:00am on Thursday, August 30, 2007. We will conduct a ribbon cutting ceremony with local officials at 9:00am," said Mike Thornbrugh, Manager of Public/Government Affairs for QuikTrip.

"Since the new store is located on Historical Route 66, QuikTrip has internally designated the store as #66. I would love to tell you we saved the number for that location but the truth is, it's an interesting coincidence," said Chuck Burns, Tulsa Division Manager. "It helped that the number was available".

The address of the new Verdigris store is 24985 S. Highway 66.

Store number 66 will be the 56th store in Oklahoma; the 4,600 square foot store will have fueling capacity for 16 vehicles and initially employs 12 employees.
